Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, Elisabeth Shue | Daniel and his mother moved from New Jersey to California. He has a great new job, but Daniel quickly discovers that a young Italian with Italian hair with a Jersey accent just doesn’t get along with a group of blonde surfers. Daniel managed to talk about several fights, but in the end he was imprisoned by several people who joined the same karate school. As Daniel passes the blow, he sees Miiagi, an old gardener who jumped into a crash and saved him by pulling in half a dozen young men. Miyagi and Daniel soon discovered the real initiator of the boys’ violent behavior through their karate teacher. Miyagi promises to teach Daniel karate and plan a fight in a multi-month basketball tournament. When his training started, Daniel did not understand what was being said. Miyagi seems to be more interested in Daniel’s fence and car wax colors than in teaching karate.
