While this new design is meant to make the workflow faster and smoother, it also takes some getting used to (especially after spending years with the same design). Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, which in some cases remain industry standards for document creation and management: Word helps you with a variety of written document tasks, from simple text editing to complex documents, including macros, tables, images, and forms; Excel is the best-known application for working with numbers, calculations and mathematical formulas, all in 2D tables or colored 3D charts; PowerPoint helps you create compelling presentations with sound effects and transitions to suit your discussions and lectures, combining ease of use with professional results; and finally, Outlook is a standard email solution in many corporate environments due to its seamless integration with Exchange servers, support for digital signatures, and great add-ons (tasks, calendars and more). Microsoft Office is packed with performance, I like it. Whether you like Microsoft as a brand or not, Microsoft Office 2007 is undoubtedly a performance standard in the industry.
